William A Dusenbury
William A Dusenbury, built his Hilltop Camp in 1928
The encampment is surrounded by a story book setting that features, Redwood buildings, Rock Gardens, Bronze Sculptures and Hilltop's own china . Helen E. Johnson was employed in 1917 by the First National Bank of Olean as secretary to the President, William A. Dusenbury, working there for 25 years. Both Helen and William remained single their whole lives. It is said that she was a important influence in the planning of the Hilltop's buildings and landscape. The Hilltop Lodge is an important business site in our local and National history. It is where major decisions were made dealing with the Banking , Oil and Lumber industries.
