The Hilltop Lodge was once the retreat encampment of one of our county's foremost entrepreneurs, William A Dusenbury of Western New York. William and his family were true movers and shakers that helped form our county's direction during the industrial revolution. His encampment was built on top of a mountain in the Alleghenies. The Redwood lumber he used to construct the five main buildings came from his forest land in California. The Hilltop has fourteen private rooms with house keeping, every room has its own full bathroom and two full size beds. There are two Redwood houses a Chalet also available.The package deal includes Chef prepared meals served in our authentic Redwood lodge.Under our old growth forest canopy the encampment is surrounded by a beautiful informal garden, complete with stone-paved walkways,rock gardens, and pond. Our Allegany area is full of things to do, golf, skiing, gaming, hiking, just to name a few. You're welcome to kick back and relax in our lodge.
Hilltop Encampment (established 1928) One of North America's largest private informal Gardens. Underneath the Hilltop's old growth forest canopy there are thousands of flowering evergreens that you can enjoy while walking down beautiful stone pathways that lead to large Rock Gardens. At foot the ground is covered with myrtle, pachysandra, a verity of lush ferns and rare forest flowers.
